Today we had a lot of fun learning! For language arts we learned all about the concept of proper and common nouns. To strengthen the concept, the students played proper noun and common noun go fish. Their had to get a match with one common noun and one proper noun. For example, if they had the proper noun California, they had to get the common noun state to match with it. They had a lot of fun with the activity and even asked to play it again!
On October 3rd we went on a field trip with the second and third graders. We began our field trip at the Barlow Planetarium, where we learned about the planets and constellations. We also got to enjoy a ride on the roller coaster through space. Ask your child about it! After the Planetarium, we ate lunch at a nearby park. We really enjoyed playing on the park equipment before we headed to the Trout Museum. At the Trout Museum of Art we went to see the "Under the Hat!" Exhibit. We had the opportunity to learn all about Dr. Seuss and his work! We also made our own kites! |
