Hello! My name is Nicole Hietpas and I am the fourth grade teacher at St. Mary’s. Last year was my first year at St. Mary's. It was a great experience and cannot wait to see what this coming year will hold for me! I am from Appleton, WI and graduated from St. Norbert College in 2014.
In my free time I enjoy being outdoors, scrapbooking, reading, and spending time with my family and friends. A fun fact about me is that I am a quadruplet! I have two sisters and a brother who are all the same age as I am! Growing up with three siblings the same age as me was a lot of fun. We never had a dull moment in our house!
When it comes to teaching, I believe that all students are unique individuals, and they all have different backgrounds and different learning styles. When I am teaching your child the next nine weeks, I hope to be able to differentiate my instruction, so that I am meeting all of your child’s learning needs. All children who step into my classroom bring something with them that no one else has, and it is so important as a teacher to make sure the children can see that they are special and unique in their own ways. I also believe that each and every child is a unique individual who all need a secure, caring, and nurturing environment in which to learn and grow. As a teacher, I feel it is my responsibility to help students meet their full potential. I feel that teaching provides an opportunity for continual learning and growth. One of my hopes this year is to instill a love of learning in my students, as I share my own passion for learning with my students!
